Birth of Gracie 9/23/12

The Story of Gracie!

After having a very long pregnancy and giving myself shots everyday and then when I hit 36 weeks I had to give myself shots twice a day. It was getting to be a lot for me and I was starting to run out of places to put these shots. I'm still taking them for 6 weeks but this is a different medicine I'm taking and it's not as painful but still a pain to take. Also I had to go into the doctors office two times a week and that was so hard because I always had to find somewhere for my kids to go because I was strapped down to a baby monitor so there was no way for me to watch a two year old and a three year old. David's work was so nice to let him leave when he needed to help!

On September the 24th I asked David if he wanted to do a date night before baby came and he was all for it so we called Judy to see if she could watch the kids for us and she was so sweet and let the kids come over and play. David and I went to Olive Garden for dinner (where I went into labor with our other two) as we waited about a hour to get a seat we finally got sat. We order our food and told our waiter that we went into labor the night we left Olive Garden and he thought it was funny. I got my food because it was just soup and we were waiting for David's. As I was eating I felt this a little bit of water leak and I just thought maybe I peed myself. I said to David I think my water broke and he was like yeah right Tammy. I got up and went into the bathroom as there was a line I waiting in line for my turn LOL I know crazy. I went to the bathroom and another more happen. I walked about to my set and I was about 30 feet from David and it all went down hill from there water was all down my pants. I looked at David 30 feet away from me and said COME ON we have to go my water broke. He jumped up and told a waiter her that my water broke and we needed to go and she said don't worry we will take care of your dinner! I started to cry because I was so embarrassed as it just coming out and my pants were so wet. David ran and got the car and we rushed to the hospital. We got there and I walked in because I wasn't having any contractions just water running down my leg which is so nasty to feel! Went we got into the birth center they checked to make sure it was my water and sure enough it was my water. They got me all set up to get into my room. As I got all set up in my room they said I should start walking to get the contractions going. David and I walked up and down the hall but I going off the baby monitor so I had to go back to the room. I walked around in the room and it worked a little better. The contractions started to pick up a little more. My mom was in the room with us this time around and she said I was having contractions every 5 Min's a part. I got into the bath and that is when all the contractions started. I was not able to labor in the tub because they don't do it there so I had to get out. I didn't think I was going to get out. I was in so much pain and it was so hard to walk. Once I got back into bed that is where it all got so intense I didn't think I was able to do it. By the time I hit 9cm I wanted to get the drugs but It was way too late. I was ready to push this baby out!! They kept telling me not to push because they were not ready and all I wanted to do was push. It was the most pain I have ever been in!!! They were ready and I pushed 3 times and she was OUT!! I was so happy it was all over and that SHE was out!! We didn't find out the sex so it was so fun for them to tell us we had a little GIRL!

Because I didn't do any drugs this time I healed really fast. I was up moving around a few hours after I had her! It was soooooooo nice not to be in so much pain after the birth! I'm so glad that I did it and that she is here. I'm loving our family of 5 and wouldn't chance it for anything. It's crazy around here but I love every minute with all 3 of our kids!!
